Follow the steps below to set up Mac OS X 10.3 for dial-up access.

How to Set Up Mac OS X 10.3 for Dial-up Access
  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.

  2. Click the Network icon.

  3. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Modem Port.
  4. Click on the PPP tab.
  5. In the Account Name field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., johndoe@earthlink.net).
  6. In the Password field, type your EarthLink password.
  7. In the Telephone Number field, type a local EarthLink access number.

    Please check with your local telephone company to make sure that the access number that you are dialing is a local, toll-free call. We assume no responsibility for local toll or long distance charges incurred for the use of our service.

  8. In the Alternate Number field, type a second local EarthLink access number (if available).
  9. Check the box next to Save password if you wish to have your password saved.
  10. Click the PPP Options button.

  11. Check the box next to Connect automatically when needed.
  12. Click the OK button.

  14. Close the Network window.
