Parental Controls is a free add-on component for
TotalAccess for Windows. The first step is to
determine if Parental Controls is installed.
To check if Parental Controls is installed:
-
Open TotalAccess and sign in using your primary
profile. If you need to download and install
TotalAccess, click
here.
-
From the TotalAccess
Task Panel, select Protection, then
Parental Controls.

Parental Controls.
Making your computer Child-Safe blocks anyone from
accessing the Internet on your computer without first signing in
to TotalAccess. This prevents your child from
bypassing the security features of Parental Controls
by using other Internet software to go online.
To activate the Child-Safe feature:
-
On the TotalAccess Task Panel,
select Protection, then
Parental Controls.
-
Select Make This Computer Child-Safe
You will need a profile (EarthLink email address)
for each child to use Parental Controls. Creating a
profile is as simple as assigning an email address and password
for each child.
Each child will sign in to TotalAccess using his
or her own email address and password, and all of the safety
settings you've chosen will apply to their Internet sessions. If
your child already has an email address under your account, you
can skip the instructions below and edit the
child's profile.
To create your child's profile:
-
From the Protection menu, select
Parental Controls, then Add Profiles
-
Sign in to My Account with your primary
email address and password.
-
Click the Add a new profile link.
-
Complete the form and click the Add Profile button at
the bottom of the page to create a profile.
-
My Account will then ask you whether you'd
like to turn on Parental Controls for this email
address. Click the Turn on
Parental Controls button.
This will take you directly to the Profile Settings page for
this profile, where you choose the safety settings.
Once you have created your child's profile, you can turn
Parental Controls on and set the safety settings.
