Follow the steps below to set up the Mac OS X Network Panel for DHCP.

How to Set Up the Mac OS X Network Panel for DHCP
  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.

  2. Click the Network icon.

  3. Click the arrow box on the Location pop-up list and choose New Location.

  4. In the Name your new location field, type a name to identify this location.
  5. Click the OK button.

  6. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Built-in Ethernet.
  7. Click the arrow box on the Configure pop-up list and choose Using DHCP.
  8. Click the Apply Now button.
