This article contains information on how to opt out of the Earthlink/Yahoo! domain error page.

DNS Opt Out Servers

EarthLink recently began routing erroneous domain requests to a custom EarthLink/Yahoo search page rather than to the standard The domain you requested could not be found  error page that most browsers show. Instead, the browser will route to http://earthlink-help.net/?d=error_earthlink-bf&q=(bad url here). The page will offer suggestions to other domains you might be attempting to access, search categories and a Yahoo! search field.

In rare circumstances DNS error page routing may cause problems for some EarthLink customers running various speciality programs or services.  As a work around, EarthLink provides two DNS addresses that do not route to our EarthLink/Yahoo! error page.  These DNS addresses can be used as a means of opting out of the error re-routing service. Either of these below IP addresses can be primary or secondary:

  • 207.69.188.172
  • 207.69.188.171
