How to Specify DNS Information in Windows 2000

Use this article as a guide to manually adding DNS addresses to your connection.

Configuring DNS in Windows 2000
  1. Double click the My Computer icon.

  2. Open the Control Panel.

  3. Open Network and Dial-up Connections.

  4. Right click on the network connection you wish to add DNS.

  5. Click the Networking tab.
  6. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and select Properties.

  7. Select the Use the following DNS server addresses radio button.
  8. Enter the desired DNS settings into the DNS server fields.
  9. Click the Ok button to save the changes.
